The first part is the “headline”. The headline should tell people how you can assist them or let them recognize the services that you offer. Make it a short but clean and compelling headline. Your headline should explain to people what you do, and how they can benefit for connecting with you. Scatter keywords when constructing your headline because it will increase your search rankings. The second and third areas are the “current work experience” and “past work experience” sections. Inserting keywords in these areas will make your profile relevant, thus increasing your position in the search results. If you have a particular keyword that you want to use for your niche, you can also add it to this area.

The next area is the “summary”. Summary is an integral part of your profile. It is the section, you need to describe to people “who you are, what you do, and how you can help them”.Don’t posts summary that looks like a resume that lists all your achievements. People are after in knowing who you are, so as much as possible, try to post personal things.

When creating your summary, try to scatter your keywords so you can boost your chance of ranking high. In addition, always keep in mind that the purpose of the summary is to increase your credibility, so be sure to take your time in writing it.The first part of your summary, “who you are”, is where you tell something about yourself.Communicate your objectives and the things you are passionate about. Continue your summary in a new paragraph to explain what you do, by describing who you help. Elaborate in this section but keep it to the point. Then the last section is where you tell them how you can help them. Make sure to include your contact information here as well.

The fifth area in your profile that should contain your keywords is the “specialties” area. Instead of following a sentence format, try to list your specialties on top of each other. However, when adding your keywords to this field in this manner, you need to make sure to keep them readable and relevant.

Keywords are incredibly crucial to improve your chances of getting to the top of the LinkedIn search results. These straightforward tips will ensure that your profile carries the right keywords in the right places.
